NQ Mobilises Two Drill Rigs: Carheil Silver Project and Lac Shortt Gold Project

LAVAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 14, 2011) -NQ Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NQE) is pleased to report that it has resumed drilling, with one drill mobilized on the Nordest showing at the Carheil project in the Selbaie mining district, and a second drill starting work on the highest priority targets at the Lac Shortt mine property near Desmaraisville.

Carheil Project

NQ is particularly satisfied with the results of the winter 2011 drilling program on the Nordest showing at the Carheil property. Many holes confirmed the continuity, quality and thickness of the Ag1 zone below the 400-metre level. A gold zone also appears to develop around the 600-metre level. In addition, the only hole drilled near surface (100-metre level) showed that the Ag1 zone, while lower grade, is still present. This is good news, as it suggests that the zone is continuous from surface to at least the 600-metre level, where it remains open.

In the coming months, the Company will therefore test the following assumptions:

  • A low-grade zone (about 100 g/t Ag) can be outlined between surface and the 200-metre level (open-pit potential)
  • There is continuous higher grade silver mineralization (200 g/t Ag) between the 200- and 400-metre levels
  • There could be a lens of high-grade mineralization (>200 g/t Ag) below the 400-metre level
  • A gold zone develops around the 600-metre level

A drill is scheduled to work non-stop from mid-June until the end of 2011. NQ plans to start by drilling 6,000 to 8,000 metres of a 20,000-metre program that will continue into 2012. The initial results should be released starting in early August.

Lac Shortt Project

Having compiled, digitized and modeled the historical data for the old Lac Shortt mine property (2.6 MT @ 4.7 g/t Au), the Company is now ready to start drilling on the project. A program of 2,500 metres in six holes is planned. Two holes will test a new fault that has been identified on the basis of geophysical surveys but has never been drilled. Three holes will test the East zone, which is located on the Lac Shortt fault, the structure that host the mine. The last hole will test a mineralized zone on the "Green Mica Schist" fault to the southeast of the old mine.

This program will provide the Company with a good idea of the remaining gold potential in the vicinity of this former producer.
