BacTech Commences Drilling Program on Snow Lake Arsenopyrite Stockpile

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 4, 2011) - BacTech Environmental Corporation ("BacTech" or the "Company") (CNSX:BAC) today announced that work will begin on the arsenopyrite concentrate stockpile located in Snow Lake, Manitoba, on May 9th. A sonic drill rig will be mobilized on that day and should be at site for approximately 7 days. The goal of the drill program is to obtain representative material for assaying and bioleaching, in addition to creating a National Instrument 43-101 ("43-101") resource estimate for the stockpile.

It is anticipated that a total of 30 HQ holes will be drilled on 3 fences with 10 meter spacing between holes. In addition, all holes will be drilled into the base sediments below the stockpile to determine the extent of the arsenic penetration. The drill core will be split, with one half of the core being retained for purposes of calculating the 43-101 report. The other half of the core will be shipped to Inspectorate Exploration and Mining Services Ltd. in Vancouver, B.C., for assaying for gold and bioleach test work. It is estimated that the bioleach work will be completed in the 3rd quarter of this year.

The contract to clean up the Snow Lake concentrate stockpile was awarded to BacTech on April 27th in response to a Request for Proposal issued by the Mines Branch of Manitoba Innovation, Energy and Mines in December 2010. Upon completing the test work, BacTech will submit its results to Mines Branch. Assay results on the material recovered through the drill program will be released upon receipt of the results.
