TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 7, 2012) - It's a unique chance to own a piece of history. Lanterra Developments is holding a 3 day contents sale of many of the furnishings and unique items that adorned the legendary Sutton Place Hotel for many years. The event is a charity fundraiser to benefit the redevelopment of Mount Sinai Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) - a facility that cares for over 1,000 critically ill babies each year. The new, state-of-the-art NICU will enable Mount Sinai to continue delivering the highest level of care to this most fragile patient population.
The sale will have a wide range of items available including numerous French provincial tables, desks and chairs from the many suites and rooms of the hotel, unique fixtures from the lobby and lounge areas and many grand pianos.
"We think this is a great opportunity for Torontonians to capture a piece of local history and at the same time help a great cause focused on the future of our city at Mount Sinai Hospital," said Mark Mandelbaum, Chairman of Lanterra Developments.
"Lanterra is expecting to raise significant funds for donation through this sale in order to make an important and helpful contribution to the great work that this hospital undertakes in our community," said Barry Fenton, President and CEO, Lanterra Developments.
The Sutton Place contents sale will take place on Aug. 8-9 from 12pm-8pm, Aug. 11-12 from 12pm-5pm, and Aug. 13-15 from 12pm-8pm in the Victoria Ballroom of the former Sutton Place Hotel. Images of items for sale can be viewed at www.suttoncharitysale.com.
