Windsor Rental Vacancy Rate Lower

LONDON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 13, 2012) - Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) released its Fall Rental Market Report for the Windsor Census Metropolitan (CMA) today. The vacancy rate in the Windsor CMA moved down from 8.1 per cent to 7.3 per cent. Also on the basis of a fixed sample of structures common to both the 2011 and 2012 surveys, the average two-bedroom apartment rent increased by 1.7 percent.

"Increasing employment levels, a return to population growth and high levels of international post-secondary student enrolment have contributed to an increase in rental demand," said Margot Stevenson, CMHC Market Analyst for the Windsor area.
