SCHENECTADY, NY--(Marketwire - Feb 19, 2013) - Apogee, the nation's largest provider of managed residential network (ResNet) services to higher education, today announced that it has partnered with Union College, a private liberal arts college, to manage the school's growing residential network, which includes 20 dormitory, fraternity, and sorority buildings and 31 campus houses. Apogee was selected based on a combination of cost benefits and outstanding references from other campuses.

During the winter break, Apogee completed the installation in only 14 days, well ahead of schedule.
Prior to Apogee:
- Students only had wired connections in their rooms
- Wireless access was only available in common areas
- Bandwidth was shaped to 1 Mb in the residence halls
- Bandwidth levels fluctuated during peak hours
- Support was unavailable on weekends and after business hours
With Apogee service in place:
- Residences gained complete wireless access and new infrastructure
- Bandwidth is guaranteed with optional upgrades
- Students now have support available to them 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, by phone, text or email.
- Students can also count on hands-on support from a locally-hired technician for in-room troubleshooting.
