TOLEDO, OH--(Marketwire - Apr 11, 2012) - Trilby Animal Hospital announced that the practice has a new veterinary care website. Toledo veterinarian Dr. Alan Moore, along with veterinarian Dr. Gina Lopez, provides comprehensive wellness care and pet dental care for dogs, cats, exotic and pocket pets. The new website is designed to help pet owners learn more about the basics of pet care, and features wellness tips, a video newsroom and a Vetopedia. The veterinary hospital serves the Toledo, Sylvania, Maumee, Oregon, Perrysburg and southeast Michigan companion animal communities.
Toledo veterinarian Dr. Alan Moore, owner of Trilby Animal Hospital, announced the launch of the practice's new website.
"Our new website naturally complements our practice's mission to educate pet owners about responsible, compassionate care," said Dr. Moore. "A pet requires 24-hour care and attention, and I understand how frustrating it can be for pet owners when an after-hours health emergency strikes. With our new website, pet owners have a trusted source for reliable veterinary care information, no matter what time of day or night."
The "Veterinary Topics" library is a key feature of the new website. The library includes a video newsroom, tips on how to choose the right pet for an individual's family and lifestyle, and tips for making a home pet-friendly.
The video newsroom features short videos on a variety of different health topics, including pet dental care, flea prevention and pet orthopedics. The videos often include demonstrations to assist in explaining a treatment or service. The pet dental care video, for example, shows pet owners the best way to brush a dog's teeth.
The library also contains a checklist for helping pet owners better recognize the early signs of illness in their pets. "Since pets cannot directly tell us how they feel, learning to recognize unusual behavior and other warning signs for illness is essential," said Toledo veterinarian Dr. Gina Lopez. "This is just one example of how our new website is fulfilling our commitment to educate pet owners."
Dr. Moore and Dr. Lopez provide care for dogs, cats and exotic and pocket pets. The veterinary website reflects this diversity, including information on all different types of companion animals.
"Owners of exotic and pocket pets often have difficulty finding accurate, reliable pet care information," said Dr. Moore. "There's simply a lot more information available on dogs and cats. Our new website is designed for all pet owners, and even features special information on rabbits, reptiles and ferrets."
For pet owners who are confused by different veterinary terms, the website's Vetopedia has the answers. The Vetopedia is a glossary of different terms used by veterinarians, and includes illnesses, health conditions and common veterinary medication.
"As a vet, the last thing I want is for a pet owner to feel unsure about a veterinary care issue because of confusing terminology," said Dr. Lopez.
Pet owners who visit the website can learn more about the different services available at the animal hospital, including wellness exams, pet surgery and pet dermatology.
Individuals may also sign up for the practice's bi-weekly e-newsletter or keep up-to-date with the veterinary blog to receive the latest veterinary wellness news and tips for pet care. The new website can found at: http://www.trilbyanimalhospital.com.
