NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jul 30, 2012) - This Summer and fall a lot of us are going to be watching sports on TV whether it's the Olympics or Football season. Steve Kidera of the CEA has tips to allow us to experience the games like never before.
Televisions have gone through some major innovations in the last few years that will make your viewing experience better than ever. Now you can achieve the connected TV experience with a smart TV. Applications are built right into the television so you won't even need your computer or smartphone. Watch Hulu or Netflix or stream videos without hassle. You can also keep updated on your favorite athlete or team by following them on Twitter and Facebook. When you have smart TVs with large screens, like a 90-inch Sharp TV or 65-inch Panasonic you will feel like you are right in the excitement of the game!
Internet connected, smart TVs aren't the only thing you need to experience the games like never before, you also need surround sound. Surround sound comes in easy-to-set-up single sound bars that you can place in front of your TV or mount to the wall. Yamaha has a great one for about $250. You can also get a basic speaker set with a subwoofer in all varieties to meet your needs. Boston Acoustics has a set for about $500. A great surround sound really complements your TV to create a full experience.
You also need accessories for a great at-home entertainment system. A great one is Omnimount which is a mounting device that allows your TV to move up, down or side to side. It's great if you're in the kitchen making dinner and want to catch the action or if you're working out and need to pull out the TV and change the direction. You can also get a surge protector from Acoustic Research to protect your gear from power outages and spikes. It will optimize your audio and video experience.
Before you buy any of these products make sure you go into your nearest retailer to see these products first hand and pick out what fits your needs best.
