MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 10, 2012) - The Farha Foundation, Quebec's leading HIV/AIDS fundraising organization, is excited to present the 14th edition of MASKARADE - a formal masked evening intended to enlighten the community about the stigma attached to HIV/AIDS and those touched by the disease, including their families, friends and caregivers. MASKARADE will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Marché Bonsecours in Montreal, with a goal to raise $300,000 in support of individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Quebec.
Ron Farha, Founder of the Foundation once said, "AIDS will disappear one day...
in the meantime, we have the opportunity to learn and grow... and we must do just that." MASKARADE 2013 was inspired by this thought-provoking statement and unites 450 VIPS for a glamorous fun-filled evening.
"The focus of MAKARADE 2013 is on our youth. They are our future and many are not aware that AIDS is preventable," states Linda Farha, Foundation spokesperson. "The theme INSPIRE is about motivating those that can have an impact on our future. It's about how they may be inspired by their parents, peers, mentors and heroes to one day be part of a generation void of HIV/AIDS."
MASKARADE 2013 will begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails, followed by an auction, dinner, dancing and lots of inspired surprises. More details of the evening will be announced closer to the event.
"We are very honoured to be part of the Farha Foundation's MASKARADE 2013," states Andrew and Arlene Torriani, event Chairs. "Our three children are young and we are highly motivated to ensure that they know about the true reality of this terrible disease and it is with fundraising events like this that we may create a meaningful impact."
