  * Ericsson will implement a new 4G/LTE network for Vivo, a subsidiary of
    Telefônica
  * New network will meet users' demand for connectivity and mobile
    broadband services
  * Agreement strengthens Ericsson's position as main telecom
    infrastructure supplier for Vivo and marks Ericsson's second 4G/LTE
    win in Brazil

To cope with data traffic growth and expand its mobile coverage, Vivo - Brazil's largest operator serving 75.7 million mobile subscribers - has chosen Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to supply and implement a 4G/LTE network in the North and Mid- Western regions of Brazil, as well as the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Bahia and Sergipe.

Ericsson is selected as supplier for Vivo's 4G/LTE network, which will feature Ericsson's latest RBS 6000 multi-standard radio base stations. This agreement strengthens Ericsson's position as primary telecom infrastructure supplier for Vivo and marks Ericsson's second 4G/LTE win in Brazil.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson is also responsible for network implementation, including network rollout, design and support services.

Ericsson has now signed 89 LTE/EPC contracts in 38 countries on five continents.
