CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Sep 17, 2012) - tastytrade, the fastest growing online financial network, today announced the launch of its newest program, Chasin' Warren, a monthly video segment for 8 - 14 year olds that will spur interest in stocks, markets and investing for this important age group. tastytrade blends foundational financial concepts with humor and fun personalities to create an innovative show that the whole family can watch together.
The Chasin' Warren story lines take the cast, also 8 - 14 years old, through the world of entrepreneurs, public offerings, and CEOs and how they relate to the products that kids use themselves.
"Chasin' Warren is transformational," says Tom Sosnoff, CEO of tastytrade. "At tastytrade, we want to change the way Americans grow up thinking about investments and how smart people become successful. We created this show because we've seen the positive difference in people our age who we've taught the logic and strategies of building wealth. If kids today learn the basics of investing, they could be the financial and entrepreneurial super stars tomorrow."
Each episode of Chasin' Warren will be aired on www.tastytrade.com, then available on demand at www.chasinwarren.com. The site will have videos, an easy to understand glossary of terms, money tips for kids, and the ability to find and track the stocks of some of their favorite companies.
"To cement the lessons and complete the offering for parents, tastytrade has partnered with our preferred broker for parents and grandparents to open UGMA/UTMA for the kids," explained Kristi Ross, President of tastytrade. "The parents will be able to buy shares of stock, once a week, with no commission in these special accounts. And we provide tools for parents, when they are ready to communicate the gift of these shares to the kids. Then kids can track, analyze and learn as the portfolio is built. It's a great way to not only save for a child's future, it's also great for kids to see investing happening right in front of them, and to participate in active learning, paving the road to financial literacy."
Added Sosnoff: "Our other shows like Get Tasted and the LIZ & JNY Show broke ground by revolutionizing the way adults think about trading. Now, Chasin' Warren will get kids thinking about money and investing in a whole new way because no one else is talking to them about it. The kids are ready for this; they and America will be better off for it."
The premiere episode of Chasin' Warren will be aired live on the tastytrade network September 18, 2012 at 7:00 pm CT at www.tastytrade.com.
