HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - July 25, 2012) - When the light starts to fade you have a couple of choices on Haven holiday parks this summer. You could head on down to join in all the entertainment or you could grab your torch and join them for a Wildlife Detectives Dusk walk.
It's an exciting sensory walk for all the family - smelling the scents of evening flowers, feeling your way through the trees & listening for hedgehogs foraging & owls hooting and looking out for bats and moths along the way. Each walk varies depending on the parks natural habitat. Stay at Kiln Park in Tenby and you'll end your walk sitting around a campfire roasting marshmallows!
Did you know? Although the high pitched sounds that bats make are inaudible to most adults - many children will be able to hear them!
For those of us that are more used to foxes in the garden then you'll be happy to know that you'll be given a spotters guide to use on your walk.
Each Haven family holidays has a green team and some have Park Rangers they work alongside our environmental consultants and The Wildlife Trusts to make them a Haven for wildlife as well as holidaymakers. The dusk walk is just one of the activities taking place in Wildlife Detectives. Families can also take part in day time walks, fossil making and older kids can do orienteering. Go to www.youtube.com/havenholidays to see the wildlife walk at Devon Cliffs.
Summer breaks start from £249 for a family of up to six at selected parks and dates.
