| What: |
The British Columbia Pension Forum will bring together approximately 150 pension trustees, pension advisory committee members and pension activists with investment managers, public policy makers and leading national and international thought-leaders to discuss key pension plan governance, funding and investment issues. |
| |
|
| Why: |
Canada is facing a retirement crisis. The economic crisis of 2008 has left many workplace pension plans hurting, and more and more Canadians are facing retirement insecurity. The $1.1 trillion of Canadian trusted pension funds are of critical importance to workers and the economy. How these funds are invested, as well as pension plan structures and recent cases of regulation changes, all have an impact on retirement security. This event is a one of a kind opportunity for experts to come together to discuss the current challenges and the future outlook of retirement security in a British Columbian context. |
