RiverMeadow will also be exhibiting at booth #219 where the company will be showcasing the RiverMeadow Cloud Migration SaaS which provides a simple, automated and customizable approach to onboarding and migrating server workloads into and between VMware vCloud environments. RiverMeadow does not require the installation of agents, nor does it interfere with the operation of the source server during a migration. As a result, there is no need to reboot source servers to begin collection or shut them down until final cut-over to the new cloud instance. RiverMeadow collects server images and relative metadata, and then converts the image onto the target hypervisor. RiverMeadow then deploys the converted hypervisor images into the target cloud environment as a fully compatible virtual machine (VM).
Additionally, RiverMeadow is driving server workload migrations to VMware vCloud Service Provider environments through a joint marketing campaign with VMware. Leveraging VMware Cloud Credits, this campaign offers enterprises and SMBs a low-risk, automated means to centralize workload management into the vCloud ecosystem of Service Providers while combatting issues such as cloud sprawl and rogue IT spend. An important distinction of the RiverMeadow cloud migration approach is in the process of converting the collected image into a bootable VM that is compatible with the target environment. Other migration solutions simply collect an image and look for the best target environment VM template to match it with, hoping for minimal failures when the new VM is deployed.
