Reimbursement Intelligence Brings On New Chief Commercial Officer

MADISON, NJ--(Marketwire - Nov 17, 2011) - Reimbursement Intelligence, the New Jersey-based market-research firm helping biopharma, medical device and diagnostic firms succeed in managed markets, announced today that Shiraz Hasan has joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer. Reporting to RI's president, Rhonda Greenapple, Shiraz will have full responsibility for the company's sales and marketing organization and will play a key leadership role in helping RI grow its market and customer presence.

"Shiraz brings an extraordinarily rich understanding of the complexities of managed markets," said RI president Rhonda Greenapple. "His experience in helping clients see the effects of payer-management tactics and company strategies on the performance of products in the marketplace, and how to make necessary adjustments, will be crucial as we roll-out over the next year a broad set of new client offerings."

"Shiraz's knowledge of the pharma-payer intersection and his focus on solutions will be invaluable in making RI essential to clients who must understand, define and communicate the value of their innovation," said Roger Longman, RI's chairman and the CEO of Real Endpoints LLC, which recently made a controlling investment in RI.

"The opportunity at RI is extraordinary," said Shiraz Hasan. "RI understands that reimbursement is an environment, shaped by the interactions of myriad players -- payers, physicians, patients, pharmacies, and R&D organizations. The unique value of our current products and services, and those we develop, reflects that complex reality."

Until November 1, Shiraz led the consulting, marketing, and specialty sales activities for the $160 million healthcare analytics business unit at Wolters Kluwer Pharma Solutions, where he was responsible for helping to shape the company's industry-leading managed-markets data offering and building the foundation for their consulting platform. Prior to WKPS, he held senior management roles in several financial and consulting services organizations. Shiraz holds a BS in Environmental Sciences from Rutgers University and an MBA from Rutgers Business School.
