SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Oct 18, 2012) - Qliance Medical Management Inc., pioneering a transformative approach to healthcare with Qliance® flat-fee primary care clinics in Washington State, is expanding its network with a new facility in Bellevue, Wash., at the headquarters building of Expedia, Inc., the world's largest online travel company.
The new Qliance Bellevue clinic will make access to medical care simple and more convenient for the more than 2,000 Expedia employees who work at the travel company's local offices, as well as for the general public. Construction is scheduled to begin this week, with the clinic slated to open in January 2013.
"We are excited to be providing employees with an innovative new avenue for accessing medical attention and services that will make it easier for them to practice consistent health care," said Connie Symes, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Expedia. "In collaboration with Qliance, the opening of this new onsite clinic is another step in our ongoing initiative to make personal health and well-being a major focus for our workforce."
Qliance provides employers and patients with convenient, affordable access to highly skilled doctors, nurses and healthcare teams. Qliance is designed to provide patients with unrestricted access to the practice through longer appointments, extended hours, and phone and electronic communications with their provider so that they can take care of their health needs promptly and avoid downstream care and costs. For employers like Expedia, Inc., Qliance represents a customized, cost-effective solution that is complementary to the more traditional healthcare coverage already being offered to employees.
Self-insured businesses can lower healthcare costs by up to 30 percent by offering Qliance primary care as an alternative to traditional insurance-based primary care. Some fully-insured businesses find that offering Qliance alongside a lower-cost wrap-around insurance plan can help reduce annual premium increases.
Patients who are not part of an employer group can pay a flat monthly fee for comprehensive primary care ranging from $54 to $89 depending on age, regardless of health status.
"Qliance is a leader in providing high-quality, personalized primary care in a way that meets the unique needs of both patients and employers," said Erika Bliss, MD, President and CEO of Qliance. "In expanding our network to Bellevue, we are proud to partner with Expedia, a truly innovative company that wants employees and their families to enjoy a new and improved model of care -- one that gives them more time with their physician, more flexibility, and more convenience."
The new Bellevue clinic will join five existing Qliance clinics across the Puget Sound Region, in downtown Seattle, Tacoma, Kent, Mercer Island, and an affiliate clinic in Mill Creek. Altogether, Qliance cares for employees of over 200 businesses and unions located in the greater Puget Sound region.
Direct primary care practices are designed to address approximately 90 percent of the issues people need to see a doctor for, including all routine primary and preventive care. This includes women's health services, pediatric care, urgent care, wellness education, ongoing chronic disease management, select onsite procedures and diagnostics, and coordination of all outside specialist and hospital care by a Qliance provider.
By enhancing access to unhurried, thorough care at the primary care level and eliminating insurance, co-pays and deductibles for such routine and predictable services, Qliance's direct primary care model significantly reduces the cost of healthcare and keeps people healthier and more productive.
Qliance is a growing Direct Primary Care organization pioneering a transformative approach to healthcare. With an uncompromising focus on personalized, high-quality care, Qliance provides convenient access to doctors, nurses, and medical teams who deliver comprehensive services to limited numbers of patients giving them unparalleled attention and care. Patients have unrestricted access to 30-60 minute appointments, phone and e-visits, extended office and weekend hours, and 24/7 physician coverage. By spending more time with patients, Qliance helps them avoid unnecessary specialist and hospital care, thereby reducing overall healthcare costs.
