NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - October 17, 2012) - Editor-in-Chief Ally Miola boldly moves forward with the appointment of award-winning journalist Alison J. Stein as News Editor of Premier Traveler magazine. Formerly known as Alison Stein Wellner, Stein has notably received honors from the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and from the American Society of Business Press Editors.
"Just because you travel for business doesn't mean you're boring," said Stein, "and since business travelers spend so much of their lives on the road and in the air, they need news and information that addresses all of their interests, not just reports on the nuts and bolts of travel. I plan to write about some of the more absurd aspects of traveling that everyone talks about over cocktails but that's rarely been covered in business travel news."
Miola also tapped award-winning journalist and film producer Janet Forman as Features Editor earlier this year. Janet has been awarded Travel Association Journalist of the Year, among a long list of other awards. Her investigative journalism background has given her the unique ability to get right to the source of a story that is not only newsworthy, but adds a personal connection for the reader.
"Every CEO has their folksy side," observes Forman, reflecting on the dozen years she's spent interviewing corporate heads, celebrity chefs, artists and entertainers for magazines, documentary films and television. "Approach them as a colleague, share coffee and a laugh, create a sense of sympa," that's Euro-speak for feeling friendly, warm or tuned in, "and chances are they'll leave the company line behind and tell you what they really think."
"We've assembled a top-notch team of high-energy pros like Alison and Janet so that Premier Traveler may further tap into this business/frequent traveler market," said Miola. "We all share a common vision on how to do this and are excited to think of what we can produce together."
About Premier Traveler
Premier Traveler was created as an outlet for its readers' voices to be heard. Perpetually on-the-go (both domestically and abroad), with high expectations and a taste for luxury, Premier Traveler readers always have something to share -- a personal experience, an opinion, a suggestion, a question -- and PT was designed to listen and to get the answers they need.
The open dialogue doesn't stop with letters and emails from readers. Premier Traveler goes one step further by creating frequent questionnaires on a variety of topics, allowing the editorial team to inject the magazine's content with valuable and relevant insights. This is part of what makes Premier Traveler more than just another magazine and one that shares a personal connection with its readers.
