Pethealth Announces First Ever PetPoint Solutions Scholarship Award

Inaugural PetPoint Solutions scholarship helps support veterinary medicine student

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 20, 2013) - Pethealth Inc. ("Pethealth" or the "Company") (TSX:PTZ) is pleased to announce a new merit award in support of shelter medicine, the PetPoint Solutions Scholarship Award, and the first recipient of this inaugural award, Karyn Carlson.

Ms. Carlson, a veterinary student from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada, was selected as the recipient of this award for her outstanding academic achievement. Ms. Carlson, who will graduate in May of 2014, will use this scholarship to complement her studies with enrolment in the Maddie's Graduate Certificate in Shelter Medicine at the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida. The University of Florida, where Ms. Carlson plans to complete her certificate studies, offers students a unique curriculum not currently offered by most veterinary medicine programs.

Upon completion of her studies, Ms. Carlson plans to return to her home town of Tucson, Arizona and believes her experience working with the PEI Humane Society, a PetPoint partner, will better equip her for her chosen career in shelter medicine.

"I have seen what PetPoint is capable of and plan on taking that knowledge back with me," said Karyn Carlson, DVM Candidate Class of 2014 and PetPoint Solutions scholarship recipient. "I hope to be fortunate enough to work at a shelter utilizing PetPoint and, if given the opportunity, I would encourage the implementation of its use anywhere I end up."

PetPoint, the industry's leading shelter database management system, provides animal welfare organizations a cloud based application to help better manage both intakes and outcomes, and work flow.

"The PetPoint Solutions Scholarship Award is one more way we give back to the industry, by supporting students in the study of shelter medicine," said Connie Howard, Director of Animal Welfare Relations at Pethealth Inc. "We are pleased to be able to offer this merit award to those who will contribute to helping further the interests of animal welfare organizations operating in North America."

The Company plans to continue to support the study of shelter medicine and the animal welfare community at large through the ongoing support made by the PetPoint Solutions scholarship program.

About PetPoint
