SOUTH WINDSOR, CT--(Marketwire - Aug 9, 2012) - With an average price of $271 the New England Patriots are currently the second-most expensive ticket in the NFL on Ticket Liquidator, the web's second-largest secondary ticket site. A solid team that came close to winning the Super Bowl last season, the return of Payton Manning to Gillette as well as a passionate fan base eager for another NFL title have helped the Patriots become the hottest ticket this side of Green Bay. The average price for a Patriots ticket is up 17 percent from last year's average of $231.
"The Patriots have been one of the most popular tickets in the NFL for more than a decade now, and with the window starting to close on the Tom Brady / Bill Belichick era it seems fans are eager to watch the team in action," said Andres Hidalgo, media relations, Ticket Liquidator. "AFC East rival the New York Jets are another fan favorite, and the Monday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans round out the three most in-demand Pats tickets."
The hottest game on the Patriots schedule is not-surprisingly Peyton Manning's return to Foxboro with his new team the Denver Broncos. The Broncos vs. Patriots game, taking place on October 7, is currently fetching an average price of $374. The New England / New York Jets rivalry has heated up the past few seasons, and as their matchup on October 21 is the second-most in demand ticket with an average price of $288, it seems fans are eager to watch the teams face off. The third most-popular game is against the Monday Night Football game against the Houston Texans on December 10 with an average price of $274. The Patriots once-again travel to London this season to take on the St. Louis Rams at Wembley Stadium on October 28, a game with an average ticket price of $267.
And in a sign of the tough times the Miami Dolphins are experiencing, that game, also the last game of the season, is currently the least-expensive game on the Patriots home schedule with an average price of $171.
Due to the nature of the secondary ticket market, ticket prices are subject to change and could currently be higher or lower.
