TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 1, 2011) - Today, ILR Car Control School Inc. (ILR CCS) and the Toronto Automobile Dealer Association [TADA] jointly announced a new strategic partnership designed to improve the emergency driving skills of all TADA members' customers. ILR CCS is now the "Official Advanced Driver Training School of the TADA".
"Customers buy vehicles for a variety of reasons", said Todd Bourgon, Executive Director of TADA, "but there is a single undercurrent of thought that runs through every buyer; they want to be safe. Whether they are buying a multi-passenger mini-van, a small economical sub-compact or a performance sports car, each driver needs an opportunity to learn, in their own vehicle, how to best handle emergency situations when they inevitably arise. Despite all of the advanced technology that our member's manufacturers have built into our new cars there are still many situations caused by driver error. After examining the programs that ILR CCS offers we are pleased to recommend them as the Pro-Active© Advanced driving school of choice for our TADA members and their customers".
President of TADA Sandy Liguori said, "When ILR CCS approached TADA with the idea of offering a series of courses through the TADA membership, my initial reaction was 'this could be a great benefit to any driver regardless of how long they have been driving a car'. Here was an opportunity to offer a program that every customer could benefit from. No matter what brand of vehicle and no matter what price point EVERY driver and the driving public can benefit from improving driver safety. With two 'safety' schools covering summer and winter car control, plus two 'performance' schools covering Auto Slalom and elementary track skills, ILR CCS has a training program suited to every driver who walks into a car dealership".
Peter Mittler, Director of Sales and Marketing for ILR Car Control Schools added, "for many of our students the driver's seat is their workplace. Recent awareness of the Occupational Health and Safety Guidelines has encouraged employers to engage ILR CCS to train their employees. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Ministry of the Environment all recognize the valuable training their drivers receive at our schools, especially because the exercises are done in the same Ministry vehicles that the workers spend many hours in, per day".
Ian Law, President and Chief Instructor of ILR Car Control School Inc. said "We have been promoting better driving habits for over twenty years. In our weekly column in the Toronto Star Wheels Section we have been able to address a multitude of driving issues and impart education but there is still really nothing like actually practicing driving skills, in your own car". Law added, "Our one-day schools involve about four hours behind the wheel, with an instructor, on our skid pad, slalom course, emergency braking lane, collision avoidance exercise and high-speed lane change ramp. Coupled with four hours of classroom instruction, by the end of the day students have an amazing grasp of automobile/driving physics and what to do when things go wrong. Better yet, we teach them how to anticipate and avoid emergency situations. We are more than pleased to now offer our programs at the grass-roots point-of-sale for every new car. Better driving is no accident."
