Official Kickoff of the Tunney's Pasture Community Consultations

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 17, 2012) - Today, the Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Minister for Status of Women, and the Honourable John Baird, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Member of Parliament for Ottawa West-Nepean, announced the launch of community consultations for the redevelopment of Tunney's Pasture.

"The Government of Canada is consulting with stakeholders on the long-term redevelopment of Tunney's Pasture, while ensuring that all decisions made offer the best value to Canadians," said Minister Ambrose.

"We're in listening mode. Redeveloping Tunney's Pasture is a huge opportunity and we have to ensure that we make the most of it," said Minister Baird. "The redevelopment plans will help create new spaces for people to live, work and play."

The Government of Canada held an information session with the public on September 17, 2012, and presented proposed plans for the development of the Tunney's Pasture Master Plan.

Public Works and Government Services Canada invites Canadians to visit the Tunney's Pasture Master Plan website and provide their feedback on the proposed plans for the 25-year vision for Tunney's Pasture.
