DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 13, 2012) - MADD Canada, in partnership with Dartmouth Memorial Gardens and Atlantic Funeral Home, has erected a provincial monument to honour and memorialize Nova Scotians killed in alcohol or drug-related driving crashes.
The stylized granite stone features the names of 40 Nova Scotians who have been killed in impairment-related driving crashes. The monument will be unveiled and dedicated this Saturday, in the presence of victim family members and friends, first responders and MADD Canada representatives.

Impaired driving continues to be a deadly problem, both in Nova Scotia and nation-wide. Based on the most recent national statistics available, 43 Nova Scotians died in impairment-related crashes in 2009.
