SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 17, 2012) - New Relic Inc., the SaaS-based application performance management provider, today announced the availability of key transaction performance management, enabling organizations large and small to take advantage of enterprise business transaction performance tracking. Until now, business transaction performance management has only been available in expensive, on-premise tools. With the addition of this feature to New Relic Pro, the company is empowering its customers with advanced, fine-grained visibility into their most critical business interactions at an affordable price.
Additionally, New Relic has enhanced its already intuitive product workflow with a new and improved user interface. In a single pane of glass, the new UI consolidates real user monitoring and application performance overviews for at-a-glance convenience. The new design makes it even easier for developer, operations and devops teams to quickly identify bottlenecks and performance issues before they impact business activity.
New Relic was founded in 2008 and now serves over 30,000 customers who are monitoring a total of 650,000 applications instances on the company's APM platform. New Relic's SaaS-delivered solution collects over 60 billion performance metrics daily, totaling 5TB of data, making New Relic the largest big data repository ever built for application performance analysis.
- Customers can now define and track the performance of specific transactions that are critical to the business such as online shopping carts or online customer registration transactions.
- Each key transaction is presented in a dedicated dashboard, which features transaction-level, real user and application service performance metrics.
- The key transaction feature provides automatic baselining, topology maps and service level agreement reports.
"Key transactions is another example of New Relic keeping our original promise to our customers who are tired of an on-premise patchwork of disparate monitoring solutions that can be prohibitively expensive to many businesses. By offering this critical capability in our software as a service solution, we are delivering an advanced feature that is directly tied to monitoring the health of the business. It is our mission to make our customers more effective in pinpointing and preventing errors in live production web environments." Lew Cirne, founder and CEO of New Relic.
"As the complexity of today's web applications increase, it becomes more and more challenging for IT organizations to assess how individual events are impacting important applications and user experiences. Business transaction monitoring (BTM) allows IT teams to quickly focus on the most critical errors and alerts and maintain mission critical end-to-end service levels. The availability of an affordable, SaaS-based BTM capability will benefit many large and small businesses that do not have the internal skills or budget to deploy more traditional on-premise solutions." Mary Johnston Turner, Research Vice President, Enterprise Systems Management Software, IDC.
Availability and Pricing
The new user interface is available today and automatically upgraded in all New Relic editions. The key transactions feature is available to New Relic Pro users.
