Mosaicultures Internationales de Montreal 2013 Benefits from Financial Support from Government of Canada

MONTRÉAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 21, 2013) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, reiterates that the Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal 2013 horticultural art competition opening today received funding from the Government of Canada.

"In supporting Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal 2013, the Government of Canada is demonstrating that tourism is at the heart of its growth strategy," commented Minister Lebel.

This is the third time that Montréal has had the honour of hosting the Mosaïcultures Internationales competition, which this year is welcoming 200 horticultural artists from 20 different countries. Taking place at the Botanical Garden, a site that enjoys a world-class reputation for the beauty of its themed gardens and exhibition greenhouses and is an essential part of the city's tourism landscape, Mosaïcultures Internationales de Montréal 2013 will help maximize the economic spinoffs generated by tourism to the city.

The federal funding was used to carry out commercialization and promotional activities on foreign markets as well as to create the horticultural art sculptures.
