OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2012) - Today, the Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, congratulated Garda Security Screening Inc. and General Teamsters on ratifying new collective agreements.

General Teamsters Local Union 362 represents some 430 employees at the Calgary International Airport and about 6 employees at the Medicine Hat Airport responsible for the security screening of passengers, non-passengers, and baggage. The previous collective agreements expired on March 31, 2012.
The agreements were reached with assistance from the Labour Program's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code.
