OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 5, 2012) - The Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, today announced the appointment of Philip H. Davies as a member of the National Energy Board (NEB).
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Davies as a member of the National Energy Board," said Minister Oliver, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources. "Mr. Davies' extensive experience in energy infrastructure, and in North American crude oil, natural gas and electric power industries will provide both depth and knowledge to the Board as it continues to fulfill its mandate."
Mr. Davies has over thirty years of experience in acquisition, development and operation of energy infrastructure in both the public and private sector. In particular, he has extensive experience working collaboratively with both regulators and policy makers.
The NEB is an independent federal agency established by the Parliament of Canada to regulate international and interprovincial aspects of the oil, gas and electric utility industries. The NEB regulates pipelines, energy development and trade in the Canadian public interest.
