OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2012) - MADD Canada's latest School Assembly Program, Long Weekend, includes a real-life account of impaired driving which will hit close to home for students, school staff and the whole community of Red Deer.
Long Weekend, features a combination of fictional and factual stories designed to get students thinking about the dangers of impaired driving and how they can avoid putting themselves and their peers at risk. Among the real-life victim stories included in this year's show is that of Red Deer residents Brad and Krista Howe.
The parents of five children, the Howes' were killed in an impaired driving crash in 2010. Two of their children and Krista's sister are featured in Long Weekend, talking about how one person's decision to drive impaired has shattered so many lives.
MADD Canada and National Sponsor Allstate Insurance Company of Canada are hosting a special screening of the show at River Glen School in Red Deer on Tuesday, October 2nd to promote the program's national tour to schools across the country.
