VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2012) - Over 250 students from the University of British Columbia will gather at a workshop on September 17 to hear and discuss "great ideas worth spreading" to engage more Canadians in democracy. The event is part of Canada's Democracy Week, an Elections Canada civic education initiative.

The "great ideas worth spreading" will be shared by Keith Archer, Chief Electoral Officer of British Columbia; Dr. Max Cameron from the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions; Alison Loat from Samara; Bernard Rudny from Apathy is Boring; and Peter MacLeod from MASS LBP.
The event will be moderated by Stephen Quinn, host of CBC's On the Coast.
