OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 11, 2012) - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will lace up his running shoes for the Terry Fox Run, on Sunday, September 16, 2012. The run will start from Carleton University's Anniversary Park, in Ottawa.
At approximately 8:40 a.m., His Excellency will address all participants and then, at 9 a.m., kick off the run with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. As patron of the Terry Fox Foundation, His Excellency is pleased to have the opportunity to show his support and participate in the Terry Fox Run. He strongly believes in the importance of building a smart and caring nation, and in the benefits of physical fitness. He shares these values with his family.
