HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 28, 2012) - In support of October - Breast Cancer Awareness month - Sue Teschke founder and owner of Mastectomy Lingerie and More will donate 100 post-surgery camisoles to women, who are undergoing breast cancer surgery. The post-surgery camisoles will be available at Mastectomy Lingerie and More located on Upper Wellington Street, in Hamilton. Breast Cancer Support Services will be distributing coupons for the camisoles through their mastectomy comfort kit program available at their center in Burlington or at participating surgeon's offices.
A post-surgery camisole is a 'must-have' after either a mastectomy or lumpectomy as it is designed to be worn right after surgery and will provide comfort and function as you recover. Amongst the special features of the post-surgery camisole are detachable drain pouches and adjustable soft puffs which can be worn in the camisoles pocketed light support bra shelf.

As a breast cancer survivor herself, Teschke says: "I know first-hand that after diagnosis you don't have a lot of time to figure out what will make you comfortable after surgery - you are more worried about dealing with the cancer diagnosis and preparing yourself for surgery. I was fortunate to have other people thinking about my comfort afterwards and as a result of their research received a post-surgery camisole to wear after my surgery. When friends and family came to visit, I had something that was comfortable to wear and the soft puff made me feel less self-conscious and a little more 'normal'."

The cost of post-surgery camisoles, as far as we are aware, is not currently covered by most private or group health insurance plans, which according to Teschke, "is too bad, as they are as necessary to recovery and quality of life as the mastectomy bras and prostheses, which are typically covered by insurance companies."
