ALPHEN AAN DEN RIJN, THE NETHERLANDS--(Marketwire - Nov 26, 2012) - Wolters Kluwer has
partnered with the
John Adams Institute to offer its expertise in software solutions and
information-enabled tools in support of the Amsterdam-based cultural
institution. The e-book is being announced tonight at an event featuring
former
U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. It commemorates the 25(th) year
anniversary of the John Adams Institute, and is a collection of excerpts,
short
stories, and video clips from 25 prominent authors and public figures who
have
spoken at John Adams Institute events.
Authors include Madeleine Albright, Nobel and Pulizer Prize winner Toni
Morrison, authors Jonathan Franzen and Susan Sontag, and American civil
rights
activist Jesse Jackson, among others. The special digital edition will be
given
as a gift to supporters of the John Adams Institute.
"The John Adams Institute has brought hundreds of prominent American
speakers to
the Netherlands to present their work to Dutch audiences, including some of
the
major figures of our time. The e-book celebrating our 25th anniversary
brings
together works by many of these figures, both in text and in video form. We
wanted to use new technology to celebrate the past, and Wolters Kluwer,
with its
vast expertise, helped us to achieve our goal," shared Russell Shorto,
director
of the John Adams Institute.
The John Adams Institute was established in 1987 as an independent
institution
to promote cultural exchange between the United States of America and the
Netherlands. Wolters Kluwer has been a corporate sponsor of this
organization
since 2005 as a part of its drive to support local organizations and
promote
sustainable growth by providing high-quality information-enabled tools and
software solutions that improve the quality of work and the quality of life
for
the communities where it does business.
