LONDON and NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 4, 2012) - KIT digital (NASDAQ: KITD), a leader in video management software and services for broadband media companies, will showcase its latest products and solutions at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) 2012 in Amsterdam this week. In addition to introducing new software releases, KIT digital will present ongoing, hands-on demonstrations that highlight the full spectrum of its software and services on stands 1.D71 and 11.F20 at the RAI Centre Amsterdam.
"Since the start of this year, we have continued to deliver major releases of our product portfolio that address the needs of our media & entertainment, network operator, and enterprise customers," said Chief Technology Officer Mark Christie. "This week at IBC 2012 we'll be showcasing the culmination of that engineering and development work, including two new software releases."
New Software Releases
Video on Demand (VOD) Store: KIT digital will be launching a new version of its VOD Store, a templated front-end experience for the company's Cosmos video platform. The new VOD Store allows content owners to rapidly establish delivery workflows and revenue streams, allowing multiple endpoints to be served in a single editorial process. Alongside an improved editorial user interface, the new VOD Store supports multi-channel authoring and publishing, allowing editorial and business users to target content to different devices and geographies. It also includes full multi-lingual support including RTL languages and in-context editing allowing editorial staff to quickly modify promotions and other aspects of the user experience.
Social Program Guide (SPG): KIT digital will also be demonstrating its latest proof of concept for a revolutionary social remote control & second screen experience. The SPG is an enhanced remote control delivered via iPad, combining a sophisticated recommendation engine, content from the social web, and a traditional electronic program guide into one integrated interface. Originally debuted at NAB 2012, the new SPG supports integrated advertisement delivery across both iPad and TV screen, as well as an "ad locker," allowing consumers to store and interact with ads after their program ends.
"Both the VOD Store and SPG sit on top of our broadcast-grade Cosmos VCMS platform, supporting a seamless ingest, publishing and delivery system," said Mr. Christie. "By leveraging the flexibility of Cosmos and skill of our professional and managed services teams, we can help our customers get innovative offerings like these to market rapidly. Our unique combination of software products, integration expertise and managed service capability is unmatched in our market."
In addition to demonstrations of the VOD Store and SPG, KIT digital will be showcasing its full spectrum of video technology solutions, including:
Multiscreen OTT Delivery: Demonstrations of customer deployments to a variety of devices, including game consoles, tablets, smartphones, set top boxes and connected TVs, will be on display. Visitors will be able to test out the technology KIT digital has implemented for key customers including customer deployments for Ireland's national radio and television broadcaster RTÉ, leading MENA pay TV network OSN, and British broadcasters BSkyB and Channel 4.
Civolution 2Si Automatic Content Recognition (ACR): KIT digital has integrated Civolution's ACR technology, SyncNow, into its Cosmos video management software, which will now deliver second screen interactivity to consumers with non-connected, or "dumb," TV sets. Visitors can get hands-on with the Cosmos/SyncNow demonstration, which launches a variety of second screen experiences based on "fingerprints" it listens for in a video.
Video Asset Management: KIT digital will be demonstrating its Cosmos and Cloud video asset management systems, designed to accelerate customer's delivery to market of compelling video experiences.
KIT digital representatives will be available to demonstrate and discuss the company's full suite of software and services on booths 1.D71 and 11.F20 at IBC 2012 being held in Amsterdam on September 7 - 11.
