Infobright Takes the Stage at Sixth Annual MySQL Conference & Expo
Top Infobright Execs to Share Insights on Data Warehousing and Spotlight Company's Role as Industry's First MySQL Certified Storage Engine Partner
SANTA CLARA, CA--(Marketwire - April 14, 2008) - MySQL Conference & Expo 2008 -- Infobright,
the first analytic data warehouse provider to be named a MySQL Certified
Storage Engine Partner, today announced that its executives will be
presenting in two sessions at the sixth annual MySQL Conference & Expo.
Infobright's CEO, Miriam Tuerk, and vice president of engineering, Victoria
Eastwood, will highlight Infobright's role in enabling MySQL users to reach
new levels of performance and scalability with their data warehouses.
The MySQL Conference & Expo 2008 (www.mysqlconf.com) is expected to bring
together 2,000 open source and database users from some of the most
exciting and fastest-growing companies in the world, as well as from the
large and active MySQL community. The conference will take place April
14-17, 2008, in Santa Clara, Calif.
"The combination of Infobright's Brighthouse solution and MySQL Enterprise
delivers the scalability, performance and ease-of-use that our user
community is demanding," said Zack Urlocker, vice president of products,
Database Group, Sun Microsystems. "We look forward to Infobright's
participation in our annual conference, to provide attendees with
practical, real-world instruction on how to address today's ad hoc data
warehousing challenges."
Details on Infobright's participation at the MySQL Conference & Expo are as
follows:
-- What: "Multi-terabyte MySQL Data Warehouses? Absolutely!"
Where: Santa Clara Convention Center, Ballroom G

-- What: "Addressing the Challenges of Data Warehousing"
Where: Santa Clara Convention Center, Ballroom E
When: Thurs., April 17, 2008, 2:50 p.m. PT
Victoria Eastwood will participate in this industry panel, moderated
by Robin Schumacher, that explores how organizations are using MySQL
for data warehousing today, with panelists discussing customer examples,
new features in MySQL that enable partitioning, how MySQL lines up
against commercial databases and more. Other participants include:
Brian Miezejewski, a principal consultant with MySQL; Charles Hopper,
a consultant with Pro Relational Systems; Paul Whittington of
NitroSecurity, Inc.; and Raj Cherabuddi, CEO, president & co-founder
of Kickfire.
With its Brighthouse solution, Infobright has fundamentally reinvented data
warehouse architecture. Brighthouse represents a departure from other data
warehouse solutions that require labor intensive data partitioning and
indexing. In sharp contrast, Brighthouse achieves breakthrough performance
-- particularly for highly complex, ad-hoc queries -- with its flexible,
patent-pending Knowledge Grid and integrated Optimizer.
"As the world's most popular open source database software, MySQL has
introduced Infobright to a broad community of users interested in new
approaches to data warehousing," said Miriam Tuerk, chief executive officer
of Infobright. "We are pleased to take part in the industry discussion at
this year's MySQL Conference & Expo and to sharing Infobright's vision for
helping MySQL users work smarter, not harder to achieve efficient analysis
and business intelligence."
The MySQL Certified Storage Engine Program enables third-party ISVs and
open source community developers to produce high-quality database engines
for the millions of MySQL database users worldwide. More information on the
program is available at solutions.mysql.com/engines.
