iSeek Corp. Wins "Most Valued Company" Award at Keiretsu Forum Angel Capital Expo
The Search Engine for Shape
LAFAYETTE, CA--(Marketwire - November 26, 2008) - Over 300 of the Bay Area's most active and
respected angel investors attended the Keiretsu Forum Silicon Valley Angel
Capital Expo at Microsoft in Mountain View, California last Friday. The
all-day event featured 14 company presentations and discussion at the
company exhibition booths, as well as the "Most Valued Company"
competition, which capped off the day.
Following the presentations, attendees voted on their favorite company.
Keiretsu Forum representatives tallied the results and presented iSeek
Corp. with the "Most Valued Company" award.
Based in Ames, Iowa, iSeek Corp. has developed the premier shape-search
product available today. Branded as CADSEEK in the area of product design
and manufacturing it provides quick, efficient browsing, and the
functionality to search for parts based on shape, text or a combination of
the two. It helps customers in analyzing large, distributed databases for
existing redundancies in parts design, and allows engineers to search for a
specific assembly or parts for possible re-use in a new design project.
"Prior to the Expo, we presented to Keiretsu Forum Denver and
Seattle/Northwest. The Keiretsu Forum network is exceptionally efficient
and reflects the power of angel investing," said Abir Qamhiyah, Founder and
CEO of iSeek Corp., the "Most Valued Company" winner. "We are honored to be
distinguished among such a high caliber group of presenters and qualified
investors."
The two runner-up finalists of the Angel Capital Expo "Most Valued Company"
award were Zaavy and Phusion Projects. Zaavy is an on-demand,
personalized-products, e-commerce business serving the wide-format signs
and banners market. Phusion Projects is a beverage company that markets and
sells high quality alcoholic caffeinated beverages in the premium flavored
malt beverage category for the U.S. market.
In addition to helping entrepreneurs raise capital to grow their
businesses, philanthropy is an essential part of the Keiretsu Forum
culture. Since its inception in 2003, the Keiretsu Forum Charitable
Foundation has raised over $1 million for 97 different non-profit
organizations. At Friday's Angel Capital Expo, Christopher Crane,
President/CEO of Opportunity International-U.S., was a guest speaker.
Featured charities were WOW for Africa and Right to Play.
