OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 22, 2012) - Two Hydro Ottawa crews, comprised of seven employees, are leaving today to assist with storm recovery efforts in the upper Ottawa Valley and Western Quebec. While 1,700 Hydro Ottawa customers primarily in Goulbourn, Barrhaven, North Kanata, and Beechwood, were impacted by the same storm, our crews successfully restored power late yesterday allowing Hydro Ottawa to respond to requests for assistance from neighbouring utilities.
One crew will be dispatched to Arnprior to help Hydro One address outages in the upper Ottawa Valley. A second crew will head to Gatineau where they will assist Hydro Quebec address areas in greatest need in Gatineau, Papineauville and the Laurentians. Hydro Quebec has approximately 100,000 customers without power.
The Hydro Ottawa contingent will be providing assistance to Hydro One and Hydro Quebec over the next few days.
