CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 7, 2012) - Hundreds of Calgarians will join an estimated 600,000 Canadians on Monday, November 19 to mark National Addictions Awareness Week, walking the downtown streets to promote positive action toward the prevention of substance and gambling dependencies.
The Wellness Walk Committee, comprised of 19 community agencies and organizations, expects close to 200 men, women and children to gather at Olympic Plaza, as they prepare to march the streets of downtown Calgary to raise awareness, share hope and promote the importance of striving to maintain community consciousness for healthy living and an addiction free lifestyle. The Walk will finish at the Golden Age Club and be followed by lunch, speakers and entertainment.
