CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwire - Oct 17, 2012) - Human Arc, a leader in reimbursement and other revenue enhancement services for hospitals and health plans across the United States, raised funding for the Cleveland Foodbank to feed over 220,000 meals to hungry and food-insecure people via the Human Arc "Race to a Million 2012" 5K race and a 5K/2K walks on October 13, 2012.
The annual Race to a Million is an integral part of the community-based initiatives Human Arc undertakes toward its goal of positively impacting the lives of a million people each year. The 2012 event's results more than tripled those of Race to a Million 2011.
"I'm gratified by the participation in Race to a Million for the Cleveland Foodbank," stated Jeff Markle, Human Arc President and Chief Executive Officer. "Everything worked out superbly: the race and both walks, fun warm-up routines, deejay, kids' activities, post-race food and refreshments, plus prize giveaways. The fact that Human Arc employees planned and managed the entire event, brought considerable focus on the issue of hunger in America, and generated enough money for Cleveland Foodbank to provide hundreds of thousands of meals to our area's hungry is powerful proof that Human Arc does live its purpose... we make America healthier."
Funding this year came from hundreds of participant registration fees, donations and corporate matches. Corporate sponsors for Race to a Million 2012 included Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, LLP; EBI International; HKM Direct Market Communications; Ulmer & Berne, LLP; Alphagraphics Cleveland; Apex Affinity; Barnes Wendling, CPAs; Berkshire Group, Inc.; Capstone Consulting, Inc.; Fifth Third Bank; and Vocon, Inc.
