KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - Feb 19, 2013) - Grantham University, an online university dedicated to providing educational opportunities to working adults, and the Greater Kansas City Chapter of Blacks In Government (GKC BIG) Region VII have entered into a partnership to provide continuing education opportunities for members of GKC BIG. The agreement was signed by Mr. Joseph McGrath, Grantham University President, and Ms. Mary Nelson, Greater Kansas City Chapter of Blacks In Government President, during a signing ceremony held on Friday, February 15th at Grantham University's offices in Kansas City.
"Grantham University and GKC BIG are joining forces to provide associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs to BIG members to help them meet the continuing education requirements of the federal workforce," said McGrath.
"We think that this partnership will provide great educational opportunities for our GKC BIG Chapter members from the Federal, State, County and City government sectors," said Chapter President Mary Nelson.
Along with a tuition discount for eligible members, GKC BIG will also receive a full scholarship, valued up to $38,600, for a deserving member to earn an undergraduate or graduate degree at the University. The scholarship includes tuition, textbooks, software and fees. In addition to helping members of GKC BIG with their educational goals, Grantham University will provide virtual professional development events for members and member access to its online career portal.
