OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 1, 2012) - His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, invites you to discover Eduzone, a new online tool designed for teachers, educators and students across Canada. Eduzone provides educational and multimedia resources which will help in learning more about the governor general's role and the history of this position.

"This project is particularly dear to me, because innovation and education are one of my three pillars. I am delighted to launch Eduzone today, as I celebrate the second anniversary of my installation as 28th governor general of Canada. "
About Eduzone
Along with Eddy, Eduzone's mascot, teachers, educators and students are invited to:
- make use of educational kits, each containing a lesson plan and educational activities on the governor general's role, heraldry in Canada, and other topics to be added in the near future;
- discover Rideau Hall in Ottawa and the Citadelle in Québec, two residences steeped in history, through the school programs offered on site;
- browse the photo gallery, which includes historical photos;
- share their volunteer efforts that have made a difference in their community;
- follow Eddy's space adventure as he joins Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield during his time aboard the International Space Station.
