Government of Canada Funds Festival d'ete international de Quebec in New Richmond


NEW RICHMOND, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 19, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, today announces that the Corporation de développement touristique de New Richmond has been granted funding for the 3rd edition of the Festival d'été international de Québec in New Richmond.

"The Festival d'été international de Québec is a major tourist draw for Gaspésie. With its financial assistance, the Government of Canada is yet again demonstrating its commitment to supporting regional economic development across Quebec," said Minister Lebel.

During four days, the Festival d'été international de Québec in New Richmond will present major outdoor music shows in Pointe Taylor Park. Other highlights will include street arts and activities and entertainment for people of all ages at Place de la famille. The presentation of this summer musical event goes hand in hand with New Richmond's development strategy to diversify its economy.

Information:

This $115,000 in non-repayable funding has been granted under the Quebec Economic Development Program. The Corporation will use the funds to promote the Festival d'été international de Québec in New Richmond outside Quebec.
