SAINT-MODESTE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 27, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that the firm Berger Peat Moss Ltd has been awarded financial assistance from the Government of Canada to implement a commercialization strategy in Canada, the United States and overseas.
"The Government of Canada is committed to supporting enterprises that, like Berger Peat Moss Ltd, pursue opportunity in the global marketplace thanks to their innovative products, while fostering economic growth and job creation at home," said Minister Lebel.
Berger Peat Moss Ltd harvests, processes and distributes peat moss as horticultural growing mixes for a variety of crops. The firm offers innovative solutions to its clients, who consist mainly of horticultural producers and professional greenhouse operators.
Through its international commercialization strategy, Berger aims to access new markets so as to increase sales of its current products and launch a new generation of products. This project will allow the firm to pursue its growth and, in its view, create at least 10 full-time jobs.
