LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Sep 13, 2012) - Gehry Technologies (GT), a global leader in applying technology to building industry challenges, today announces that Director of Research Andrew Witt will lead a session focused on BIM and Manufacturing Lifecycle Systems at CONSTRUCT 2012. His session is scheduled to take place from 10:00 AM - 11:30 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, AZ.
"The building industry is moving toward BIM centric delivery systems and methods - advances that at scale have much in common with PLM systems that have been developed to maturity in the manufacturing industries over the past two decades," said Witt. "This session at CONSTRUCT will present case studies of hybrid approaches, where BIM workflows are integrated with fabrication level information management to support improved design-to-fabrication communication and collaboration."
Andrew Witt is Director of Research at Gehry Technologies (GT) and a lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he teaches in geometry and computation in design. He was previously a director at GT's Paris, France office, where he consulted on parametric design, geometric approaches, new technologies and integrated practice. Trained as both an architect and mathematician, Witt has a particular interest in a technically synthetic and logically rigorous approach to form. He received an M.Arch (with distinction, AIA medal) and an M.Des (History and Theory, with distinction) from Harvard GSD.
CONSTRUCT is a national trade show and educational conference for the commercial building teams that spec and source building products. CONSTRUCT is the only dedicated national event specifically designed to provide the commercial building team real-world, practical product and education solutions.
