Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies Agrees With Findings of Report on Anti-Semitism; Hopes Focus Will Lead to Greater Efforts to Stem Rising Hate

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 7, 2011) - Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) supports the findings of the Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Anti-Semitism (CPCCA) that anti-Jewish hatred, especially on university campuses, is a growing problem in Canada.

"The findings of this report are, sadly, consistent with those of other studies, including the recent Statistics Canada report regarding the increase in hate crimes in this country, particularly against the Jewish community," notes Avi Benlolo, Human Rights activist and President and CEO of FSWC. "I am pleased to see this issue gaining some much needed attention and look forward to both government and grassroots community efforts to assist FSWC in addressing this resurgence in anti-Semitic activity," he adds.

FSWC's mission is to counter racism and anti-Semitism and to promote human rights and social justice through education and advocacy.
