For the Fourth Year Cosmopolitan Teams Up With Maybelline New York and the USO to Collect 'Kisses for the Troops'

Actress Rose McGowan Will Join Cosmo to Collect 'Kisses for the Troops' in Times Square, NYC on November 12th

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 8, 2012) - Cosmopolitan Magazine is partnering with Maybelline New York and the United Service Organizations (USO) for the fourth year in a row to collect and deliver "Kisses for the Troops." On Monday, November 12th (the day after Veterans Day), Cosmopolitan will build a Kiss Station in Father Duffy Square in Times Square and invite the public to give a kiss on a postcard for a cause -- our troops -- which will ultimately be delivered to those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan just in time for Valentine's Day.

Cosmopolitan and Maybelline New York will donate one dollar for each kiss collected to the USO. The money raised for the USO will support troops serving overseas, as well as the more than 10,000 troops who are in the New York City area helping with the post-Hurricane Sandy relief effort.

Actress Rose McGowan will join Cosmopolitan and the USO in Times Square to help collect kisses for the servicemen and women.

"Cosmo speaks to a community of 28 million consumers, and when they rally behind a good cause, they are unstoppable," says Donna Kalajian Lagani, SVP/Publishing Director, Cosmopolitan. "Women can send their kisses by tearing out a postcard from Cosmo's November issue, or they can send a "virtual" kiss online by visiting Cosmopolitan.com/kisses or the Kisses for the Troops tab on Cosmo's Facebook page."

"There's never been a more important time to support our troops. There're more than 10,000 troops who've been called to the metropolitan area to assist in the rescue, recovery and rebuilding of the tri-state in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy," says Brian Whiting, President and CEO, USO of Metropolitan New York. "Our job at the USO is to support troops serving overseas, and in our own backyards. We're very excited to be partnering with Cosmo once again. Every dollar donated shows our troops that we honor their service and sacrifices."

Maybelline New York will be providing various shades of Color Sensational lipstick in the Kiss Station to create the lip prints.

"Maybelline New York is delighted to partner with Cosmopolitan and the USO to support our Troops in the annual Kisses for the Troops event," says David Greenberg, President of Maybelline New York * Garnier * essie. "It's extremely important to us that we let our troops know how much we support and appreciate all that they do for our country. In honor of Veterans' Day, we are encouraging our Maybelline New York community to join us on Monday, November 12 to send our troops notes of warm wishes and gratitude from home."

Consumers who can't make it to the event can still be a part of the mission by "kissing" a postcard virtually via a digital application through December 31, 2012. Consumers can log on to http://www.cosmopolitan.com/kisses or Cosmo's Facebook page, upload a photo of themselves and write a note of thanks. Their "kiss" will also count towards the USO donation and be sent to the troops.
