BILLERICA, MA--(Marketwire - Aug 13, 2012) - Winchester Systems Inc., a leading data storage solutions provider, today introduced their new PS-4500 FlashDisk PetaStore cabinet that provides high density data storage for "Big Data" applications. The PetaStore fits 528 disks in 46U of rack space totaling over 2 petabytes (PB) using 4 TB disk drives.
FlashDisk PetaStore is intended to service the explosion in the amount of data required for large scale scientific, healthcare, e-discovery, financial, e-mail archive and database applications as well as unfathomable numbers of photo, video, audio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media files -- plus multiple backup copies.
Rapid access to this unprecedented amount of storage is crucial too. FlashDisk PetaStore delivers up to 12 GB/sec. write speed and 20 GB/sec. read speed -- actual measured results.
"With unprecedented high density, and data access speeds to match, we expect PetaStore to bring great delight to the people with petabyte-scale applications at truly reasonable cost," stated Mr. Ted Gumer, VP Sales and Business Development. "FlashDisk PetaStore delivers an overwhelming value in capacity and performance per dollar," he added.
FlashDisk PetaStore is easy to set up and manage with FlashDisk Global Manager which allows multiple FlashDisk arrays to be managed from a single pane of glass. It offers both SAN block storage and NAS files storage and supports CIFS and NFS volumes in any configuration. Host ports are either Fibre Channel or iSCSI. The storage is self-serviceable and all components are front or rear hot-swappable.
FlashDisk PetaStore is configured to order and prices are available on request. Delivery is 2-3 weeks.
