CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND--(Marketwire - Dec. 10, 2012) - The Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Prince Edward Island has submitted its report of the province's federal electoral map to the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada. The report was tabled in the House of Commons today.
The Commission has made no changes to the existing electoral boundaries. "Given the insignificant variances in the population, and the absence of observable shifts in the communities of interest or identity, the commission sees no reason to adjust the current boundaries," said the Honourable Gordon L. Campbell, Chair of the three-member commission. The Commission has therefore determined that the current electoral boundaries are working effectively.
