ESPN and StubHub Team Up to Provide Tickets to Sports Fans
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - November 6, 2007) - StubHub, the world's largest ticket
marketplace, is pleased to announce a new ticketing relationship with
ESPN.com, the leading sports Web site, allowing fans to access StubHub's
ticket service from across the site. The agreement integrates StubHub
branding, links and promotions across ESPN.com, and creates a convenient
destination for fans to search for tickets to sporting events nationwide.
StubHub is now dynamically integrated into ESPN.com Team Pages,
Scoreboards, Game Previews, Clubhouses, Schedule pages and Travel Indexes.
A custom StubHub "TicketCenter" also appears on every major sport index
page where users can buy tickets for any team.
"StubHub has proven itself to be a fan favorite for buying and selling
tickets online," said John Kosner, senior vice president and general
manager, ESPN Digital Media. "Our goal is to make ESPN.com the most
complete online sports destination and that includes finding tickets to the
events themselves. StubHub gives us the ability to offer a great service
to fans, conveniently and securely."
StubHub's unique, unrestricted marketplace, dedicated solely to tickets,
provides fans the choice to buy or sell their tickets in a safe, convenient
and guaranteed environment. The company's FanProtect™ Guarantee and
award-winning customer satisfaction are attributes that have made StubHub a
destination for millions of ticket buyers and sellers.
"This signifies yet another level of mainstream acceptance of the StubHub
ticket marketplace," said Ray Elias, director of marketing for StubHub. "We
are very excited about the opportunity to provide access to fans in a way
that's contextually relevant within ESPN's rich sports content."
About StubHub
The new ESPN.com relationship follows on the heels of another prominent
online deal earlier this summer where StubHub was named the Official Ticket
Marketplace of MLB.com, the official site of Major League Baseball.
StubHub currently partners with more than 30 professional and collegiate
teams including the Indianapolis Colts and the University of Southern
California, acting as the official platform for each team's fans to buy and
sell tickets.
StubHub is the world's largest ticket marketplace, enabling fans to buy and
sell tickets at fair market value to a vast selection of sporting, concert,
theater and other live entertainment events, even those that are "sold
out." StubHub reinvented the ticket resale market in 2000 and continues to
lead through innovation. The company's unique open marketplace, dedicated
solely to tickets, provides all fans the choice to buy or sell their
tickets in a safe, convenient, and highly reliable environment. All
transactions are processed and delivered via StubHub's patent-pending
FanNetwork(SM) ticket delivery service, supported by seven-day toll free
customer service at 1-866-STUBHUB, and backed by an industry-first
FanProtect™ Guarantee. Company partners include MLB.com and over 30
teams in the NFL, NBA, NHL and NCAA along with numerous media companies
including AOL and CBS.
