Dutch Bros. Donates More Than $137,000 to Muscular Dystrophy Association

All 159 Dutch Bros. Coffee Locations Join Forces to Combat ALS

GRANTS PASS, OR--(Marketwire - May 13, 2011) - Adhering to its motto of "making a difference one cup at a time," Dutch Bros. Coffee (www.dutchbros.com) stores donated more than $137,000 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) following its annual company-wide fundraiser, MDA Day. Held April 29, Dutch Bros. hosts MDA Day annually in honor of company co-founder, Dane Boersma, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2005 and passed away in late 2009. Dutch Bros. donated $110,000 to the cause in 2010.

"We are so thankful for the contributions of our amazing customers and their support of a cause that means so much to all of us at Dutch Bros.," said company co-founder and Dane's younger brother, Travis Boersma. "We surpassed our fundraising goal from the previous year again this year, and we're so proud of our friends, family and the franchisees for showing their support of this important cause. It's really heartwarming to be able to donate these funds to an organization that changes the lives of so many people."

In addition to MDA Day, Dutch Bros. Coffee reinvests one percent of its annual gross sales back into its local communities, and in 2010, the company donated more than $1 million to nonprofit organizations including local food banks, American Cancer Society and Boys & Girls Clubs of America and many other organizations.
