Royal DSM, the global Life Sciences and Materials Sciences company, today
announces the following:
Chris Goppelsroeder, (1959), currently Global Head of the Seed Care
business of
Syngenta, a Swiss based global agribusiness leader, will join DSM on
January
1, 2013 as President and CEO, DSM Nutritional Products, reporting to
Stephan
Tanda, Member of the Managing Board of DSM and responsible for the
Nutrition
cluster.
Chris will succeed Leendert Staal, currently President and CEO of DSM
Nutritional Products, who after a very successful career of 10 years at
DSM,
will retire at the end of February, 2013. Leendert has made tremendous
contributions to the company, first in DSM Pharmaceutical Products, later
at DSM
Nutritional Products, which he built into a strong, global and highly
successful
organization and industry leader.
Chris, a Swiss national, was a member of the Managing Board of DSM from
2005 to
2006, prior to his current position at Syngenta. During that period, he was
responsible for a number of businesses in the Performance Materials and
Industrial Chemicals clusters and also had corporate responsibility for
Marketing and for the regions Europe and Japan. He left for family reasons.
Chris came to DSM through the acquisition of the Roche Vitamins and Fine
Chemicals Business where he spent a considerable part of his career, based
in
Switzerland, Belgium and the USA, building significant international
experience
in the life sciences industry.
