Droplets, Inc. Adds International Patents for Its Rich Internet Application Technology
DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - November 19, 2007) - Droplets, Inc. announced today that the South
Korean Patent Office has allowed Droplets' rich-thin client software patent
(corresponding to its U.S. Patent No. 6,687,745 -- System and method for
delivering a graphical user interface of remote applications over a thin
bandwidth connection).
Earlier this year, Israel allowed Droplets' patent. The U.S. patent was
issued in February 2004, and Australia was the first country to follow in
issuing a patent there. Beyond the U.S., Australia, Israel and South Korea,
patents are pending in other countries and regions.
Droplets' '745 patent relates to the system and method of accessing
graphical user interfaces of remote applications over both private
client/server networks and the public Internet (rich internet applications
or "RIAs"). The patent further relates to novel user interaction
capabilities such as accessing an application within a Web page and then
dragging that application out to the PC desktop where it can continue to be
accessed like any other piece of local software.

Korea," said Bill Moon, co-founder of Droplets-Asia-Pacific Co. Ltd. (DAP),
which owns Droplets' exclusive sales and marketing rights for Korea. "The
issuance of Droplets' patent in Korea now is a great boost in our
competition for the fast growing RIA market here."

Droplets is currently enforcing its '745 patent in the United States with a
patent infringement lawsuit against Adobe Systems Inc. naming Adobe
products Flex and Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR). The suit is scheduled for
trial in December 2008 (Eastern District of Texas, case no. 2:2006-cv-00307
Droplets v. Adobe Systems and Polaris Venture Partners).
The Droplets technology enables software developers to create web
applications that have the rich interaction and usability of native desktop
software combined with the administrative ease, universal accessibility,
and high security of server-based Web applications. Droplets applications
use only approximately 10% of the network bandwidth of typical Web

the responsiveness of applications for dial-up users and mobile wireless
