Day26 Finally Arrives; MTV's "Making the Band 4" Superstars Set to Drop Highly Anticipated Self-Titled Debut Album as Hit Single, "Got Me Going," Rises Up the Charts; R&B Sensations Celebrate Release With TV Performances and Exclusive NYC In-Store Event; "DAY26" Released Everywhere on March 25th
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 24, 2008) - Bad Boy recording group Day26 has announced
the release of its much-anticipated first album. The "Making The Band 4"
series-winning quintet's self-titled debut -- which includes the hit
single, "Got Me Going" -- drops into stores and all online retailers on
Tuesday, March 25th.
"Got Me Going" is currently exploding at Urban radio outlets nationwide,
while also picking up major steam at Rhythmic, Top 40, and Urban AC.
The Mario Winans-produced track is also a digital smash, coming in as one
of the week's top 10 best-sellers on the iTunes Stores' "Top R&B/Soul
Songs" chart.
In addition, the "Got Me Going" companion video -- directed by Syndrome
(Danity Kane, Pretty Ricky, Lupe Fiasco, and Trey Songz) -- has just been
added into rotation at MTV. Furthermore, Day26 is now the #1 artist at
MTV.com, where the online premiere of "DAY26" is streaming at "The Leak"
through the day-of-release.
Day26 is also making waves on BET, where "Got Me Going" is now in rotation
following its "New Joint" premiere on "106 & Park." The quintet plans to
pay a visit to "106 & Park" on Tuesday, March 25th, reminding fans that the
album is finally available in stores and online. Then, on Friday, March
28th, Day26 will perform on BET's annual "Spring Bling" extravaganza (check
local listings). The performance follows the group's recent live
accompaniment to the new Sean John collection on BET's Rip The Runway
fashion special.
Day26 -- which includes Brian Andrews, Mike McCluney, Qwanell Mosley (aka
"Q"), Robert Curry, and Willie Taylor -- heralded the album's release last
week with an appearance on MTV's "TRL." The visit also celebrated this
past weekend's blockbuster season finale of the latest and greatest season
of MTV's hit reality series, "Making The Band."
The episode was highlighted with a stellar live performance of two "DAY26"
tracks, "Got Me Going" and "Since You Been Gone." What's more, the
broadcast included the official unveiling of "P. Diddy Presents The Making
The Band 4 Tour," a major North American concert tour featuring Day26,
alongside their "MTB4" co-stars Danity Kane and Donnie Klang. Slated to
hit the road in May, a full itinerary and on-sale information will be
announced shortly.
Currently starring on the cover of Right On! Magazine, Day26 will
commemorate the March 25th release of "DAY26" with an exclusive in-store
event at New York City's Best Buy (located at 529 Fifth Avenue). The group
will be meeting fans and signing copies of their new CD, beginning at 7pm.
Executive Produced by Bad Boy CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs and Bad Boy
Entertainment President Harve Pierre, "DAY26" is unquestionably one of the
year's most anticipated releases. Recorded in just three short weeks, the
album features production from The Runners (T.I., Chris Brown, Rick Ross),
Jim Bean, Grammy Award-winner Adonis (Diddy, Usher, Danity Kane), and
multiple Grammy Award-winner Bryan Michael Cox (Usher, Mary J. Blige,
Mariah Carey). Tracks such as the heartbreaking "Are We In This Together"
and the libidinous club joint, "My Bed," give today's R&B fans exactly what
they've been craving: seamless, soulful, sincere harmonies and emotional,
sexy, straight-up banging songs.
As the world undoubtedly knows, the five gifted performers of Day26 were
chosen by Diddy and MTV viewers around the world on the record-shattering
"Making The Band 4" season finale last August 26th -- the source of the
quintet's moniker. Despite having been together for less than a year,
Day26 already exhibit extraordinary dedication, talent, and soulfulness.
Moreover, a careful listen to "DAY26" reveals the mad respect the group
has, not just for their craft, but for each other.
